Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to understand and apply basic math concepts related to water.
Materials and Prep
- A glass of water
- A small container
- A measuring cup
- A waterproof marker or sticker
- A towel or napkin
Before starting the lesson, make sure the student has a basic understanding of counting and numbers.
Activities
- Counting Drops: Fill the small container with water. Using the measuring cup, have the student count how many drops of water they can pour into the container. Record the number.
- Water Measurement: Fill the measuring cup with water. Show the student how to measure different amounts of water using the cup (e.g., half a cup, one cup, two cups). Let the student practice measuring different amounts of water.
- Water Art: Give the student the waterproof marker or sticker and let them draw or stick it on the outside of the glass of water. Ask them to count how many times the marker or sticker goes around the glass.

- "Measuring cups help us measure how much water we have. We can measure half a cup, one cup, or even more!"
- "Now, let's get creative with water! You can draw or stick a waterproof marker or sticker on the outside of the glass. Let's count how many times it goes around."
- "Remember to always be careful with water and ask for help if you need it."
