Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to improve your spelling skills through a fun game of Uno.

Materials and Prep

  • Uno cards
  • Paper and pencil

Before starting the lesson, make sure you are familiar with the rules of Uno and have a good understanding of spelling concepts.

Activities

  1. Start by shuffling the Uno cards and dealing 7 cards to each player.
  2. Choose a player to start and have them play a card from their hand.
  3. Before the next player can play, they must spell a word using the letter(s) on the card that was played.
  4. If a player cannot spell a word, they must draw a card from the deck.
  5. The game continues with each player taking turns playing cards and spelling words until someone runs out of cards or the deck runs out.
  6. At the end of the game, each player adds up the total value of the cards remaining in their hand. The player with the lowest score wins.

Remember to keep track of the words spelled by each player to avoid repetition.
