Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to understand the life cycle of sea turtles and their importance to the ecosystem.

Materials and Prep

  • Pen and paper
  • Access to the internet or books about sea turtles
  • Printed coloring sheets of sea turtles (optional)

Activities

  1. Research and write a short report on a specific species of sea turtle.

    "Choose a sea turtle species that interests you the most. Look for information about its habitat, diet, behavior, and conservation status. Write a short report summarizing your findings. Include at least three interesting facts in your report."

  2. Create a sea turtle life cycle diagram.

    "Draw a diagram that shows the different stages of a sea turtle's life cycle. Include the nesting process, hatching, growth, and reproduction. Label each stage and write a brief description for each."

  3. Coloring activity: Sea turtle coloring sheets.

    "Print out or draw sea turtle coloring sheets and color them using your imagination. While coloring, think about the different patterns and colors sea turtles have and how they help them in their natural environment."
