Materials and Prep
- No additional materials are required for this lesson as we will be focusing on the concept of hearts.
- No prior knowledge or preparation is necessary.
Activities
- Show the student heart-shaped objects such as heart stickers, heart-shaped toys, or heart cutouts. Encourage them to touch and explore these objects.
- Draw a large heart on a piece of paper using a bright colored marker. Allow the student to scribble or make marks on the heart using a crayon or marker.
- Play a game of "Find the Hearts" by hiding heart-shaped objects around the room and guiding the student to find them. Celebrate their success each time they locate a heart.
- Read a heart-themed picture book to the student, pointing out the heart shapes in the illustrations and emphasizing the word "heart" as you come across it in the story.
- Sing a heart-themed song, such as "I Love You, You Love Me" by Barney, while making heart shapes with your hands or using heart-shaped props.
