Section 1: Read and Reflect

Greek mythology consists of numerous stories about gods, goddesses, heroes, and mythical creatures. These tales often explain the origins of the world, natural phenomena, and human emotions. Two of the most important gods in Greek mythology are Zeus, the king of the gods, and Athena, the goddess of wisdom and warfare.

Questions:

  1. In your own words, describe who Zeus is and one key feature of his personality.
  2. Explain Athena’s role in Greek mythology and how she differs from other gods.
  3. Choose one myth that involves Zeus or Athena and summarize the story in three sentences.
