What is a Simple Sentence?
A simple sentence contains a subject and a verb and expresses a complete thought. It can be as short as two words.
Example: The cat sleeps.
What is a Compound Sentence?
A compound sentence is made up of two or more simple sentences joined by a conjunction (such as 'and', 'but', or 'or').
Example: The cat sleeps, and the dog barks.
