Definitions
Simple Sentence: A simple sentence contains a subject and a verb and expresses a complete thought. Example: "The cat sleeps."
Compound Sentence: A compound sentence consists of two or more simple sentences joined by a conjunction (and, but, or). Example: "The cat sleeps, and the dog barks."
Exercise 1: Identify the Sentences
Read the sentences below and classify them as either simple or compound. Write your answers in the space provided.
