Welcome to your paper mache project! Follow the steps below and answer the questions as you go. Have fun creating your masterpiece!
Materials You'll Need:
- Newspaper or old paper
- Flour
- Water
- Balloon or base form
- Paint (optional)
- Varnish or sealant (optional)
Steps to Create Your Paper Mache:
- In a bowl, mix parts flour with parts water to make a glue-like paste.
- Tear the newspaper into strips. How big should the strips be?
- Blow up the balloon or prepare your base form. What shape will you use?
- Dip each strip into the paste, then apply it to the balloon/form. How many layers will you apply?
- Let it dry completely. How long do you think it will take?
- Once dry, pop the balloon/carefully remove the form. What do you notice?
- Now, paint and decorate your creation! What colors will you use?
