Welcome! In today's physical education class, we will be exploring the basics of yoga. Follow the activities below to enhance your understanding of yoga and its benefits.
Part 1: Yoga Basics
- What is Yoga? Write a short paragraph (3-5 sentences) explaining what yoga is and its purpose.
- Benefits of Yoga: List at least 5 physical and mental benefits of practicing yoga.
Part 2: Yoga Poses
Below are some beginner yoga poses. Select three poses you would like to try. For each pose:
- Name the pose.
- Describe how to perform it (2-3 steps).
- Explain one benefit of that pose.
Instructions:
- Stand tall with your feet together.
- Engage your thighs, lift your chest, and reach your arms overhead.

- Start on all fours, tuck your toes, and lift your hips towards the ceiling.
- Press your hands into the ground and keep your body in an inverted "V" shape.

- Kneel on the ground and sit back on your heels.
- Lower your torso to your thighs and stretch your arms forward or rest them by your sides.

After practicing the poses, answer the following questions:
- How did you feel while performing the poses? (1-2 sentences)
- What challenges did you face, if any? (1-2 sentences)
- Will you incorporate yoga into your routine? Why or why not? (2-3 sentences)
Part 4: Conclusion
Write a brief conclusion about what you learned today about yoga and how you plan to use this knowledge in the future. (3-5 sentences)
