Today, we will focus on Yoga as a form of exercise and relaxation. Follow the activities below to learn about yoga positions, benefits, and mindfulness practices.
1. Yoga Positions - Try These Poses!
Perform the following yoga poses. Hold each position for 30 seconds while focusing on your breath.
- Mountain Pose
Stand tall with feet together, arms at your side. Inhale and reach your arms overhead, keeping your shoulders down. - Downward Facing Dog
Start on your hands and knees, tuck your toes, and lift your hips. Keep your spine straight and your heels pushing toward the ground. - Tree Pose
Stand on one leg, and place the sole of your other foot on your inner thigh or calf (avoid the knee). Bring your hands together in front of your heart or extend them overhead. - Child’s Pose
Kneel on the floor, sit back on your heels, and reach your arms forward on the ground, resting your forehead on the mat.
