Passage 1:
The sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky with strokes of orange and pink. It was as if a skilled artist had spilled vibrant colors onto a canvas, creating a masterpiece that would soon be swallowed by the night.

What imagery do you notice in this passage? Describe it in your own words.

Find the metaphor in the passage. Write it down and explain its meaning.
Passage 2:
The wind whistled through the trees, laughter of the forest as it danced with the leaves. Each gust was a playful child, teasing and swirling around the branches.

What metaphor can you find? How does this metaphor enhance your understanding of the scene?
Reflection:
Imagery and metaphors help create vivid pictures in our minds. Write a short paragraph about your favorite scene from a book, using at least one metaphor and one instance of vivid imagery.
