The Story of Moses

Moses was a special baby born to Hebrew parents during a time when the Pharaoh of Egypt ordered all Hebrew boys to be killed. To save him, his mother put him in a basket and placed it in the river. The Pharaoh's daughter found Moses and adopted him, raising him as her own son.

As Moses grew up, he learned about his Hebrew heritage. He saw how his people were treated badly as slaves in Egypt, which made him very sad. One day, he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew slave, and in anger, Moses helped the Hebrew by accidentally hurting the Egyptian. Afraid of what he had done, Moses fled to the desert.

In the desert, Moses met a kind man named Jethro and married his daughter, Zipporah. One day, while tending his sheep, he saw a bush that was on fire but did not burn up. God spoke to Moses from the bush and told him to go back to Egypt to free the Hebrew people.

Moses was scared, but God promised to be with him. With his brother Aaron by his side, Moses returned to Egypt and asked the Pharaoh to let the Hebrews go. The Pharaoh said no, and so God sent ten plagues to convince him. After much trouble and hardship, the Pharaoh finally let the Hebrews leave.

Moses led the people out of Egypt and toward the Promised Land. When they reached the Red Sea, he raised his staff, and God parted the waters, allowing them to cross safely. After they were safe, the sea returned to normal, stopping the Pharaoh's army from chasing them.

Moses continued to lead the people in the desert, where God gave him the Ten Commandments. These were important rules for living a good life. Moses guided his people and helped them trust and follow God for many years.
