Story of Moses
Moses was a special man chosen by God to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, where they were slaves. He was born in a time when Pharaoh ordered all baby boys to be thrown into the river. To save him, his mother placed him in a basket and hid him among the reeds. Pharaoh’s daughter found him and raised him as her own.
As Moses grew up, he saw how the Egyptians treated his people badly. One day, he tried to help one of his fellow Israelites and accidentally hurt an Egyptian. Fearing for his life, Moses fled to a land called Midian.
While tending sheep in Midian, Moses encountered God in the form of a burning bush. God told Moses to return to Egypt and free the Israelites. With God’s help, Moses performed miracles and convinced Pharaoh to let his people go.
When the Israelites escaped, they were trapped by the Red Sea. But Moses lifted his staff, and God parted the waters! The Israelites walked through safely, while the water came crashing back over the Egyptians. Moses continued to lead his people through the desert towards the Promised Land, where God had a special place for them.
