1. Hanukkah
Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Lights, is an eight-day Jewish holiday that usually falls in December. It commemorates the rededication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem and the miracle of the oil that lasted eight days.
2. Christmas
Christmas is celebrated on December 25, commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. It includes various traditions such as exchanging gifts, decorating Christmas trees, and attending church services.
3. Kwanzaa
Kwanzaa is celebrated from December 26 to January 1 and honors African heritage and culture. Each of the seven days is dedicated to one of the seven principles of Kwanzaa.
4. Winter Solstice
The Winter Solstice, around December 21 or 22, marks the shortest day and longest night of the year. Many cultures celebrate this day with festivals and rituals to welcome back the sun.
5. New Year's Eve
New Year's Eve is celebrated on December 31 and marks the end of the year. It is a time of gatherings, parties, and fireworks, as people celebrate the upcoming new year.
