Today, you will practice writing a persuasive text. Follow the steps below to create your own argument about a topic of your choice. Be sure to provide reasons why your opinion is the best!
Step 1: Choose Your Topic
Pick one of the following topics or choose your own:
- School uniforms should be mandatory.
- Video games are a waste of time.
- Every student should have a pet in school.
- Recess should be longer.
- Technology in the classroom is essential.

Step 2: State Your Opinion
Write a strong statement of your opinion about the topic you chose. Make it clear and direct.
Step 3: Provide Reasons
List three reasons that support your opinion. You can use bullet points or numbers.

Step 4: Address Opposing Views
Think about what someone who disagrees with you might say. Write down one opposing view and explain why it is not as strong as your argument.
