Understanding Tone
The tone of your writing is the attitude or mood that your words convey. In English, there are two main types of tone: informal and formal.
- Informal Tone: This tone is used in casual conversations and friendly correspondence. It includes slang, contractions, and a friendly style. Example: "Hey, what's up?"
- Formal Tone: This tone is used in professional or academic writing. It is more structured, avoids slang, and uses complete sentences. Example: "Good afternoon, how can I assist you?"
