Instructions
For this activity, you will perform a character analysis of Harry, Hermione, and Ron from your favorite story about friends with magical adventures. Choose one of the characters and write a diary entry from his or her perspective. Think about their thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and express what their day might be like in a diary format.
Character Analysis
Before you start writing, think about the following questions for each character:
- Harry: What are Harry's strengths and weaknesses? How does he feel about being the "chosen one"? What is his relationship like with his friends?
- Hermione: What drives Hermione and what values are important to her? How does her intelligence influence her relationships with Harry and Ron? How does she handle challenges?
- Ron: What role does Ron play in the group? How does he cope with feelings of insecurity or jealousy? How does his loyalty to his friends show?
Diary Entry Format
Your diary entry should include:
- A date at the top (you can make it up!)
- At least three paragraphs expressing the character’s thoughts and feelings.
- Details about a specific event or day in their life.
- Use descriptive language to convey emotions.
Writing Tips
- Write as if you are the character—what would they write about their day?
- Be creative and use your imagination—feel free to include magical elements from their world!
- Make sure to proofread your work for spelling and grammar.
Your Task
Choose one character (Harry, Hermione, or Ron) and write a diary entry based on your character analysis. Aim for at least one full page. Share your diary entry with a classmate to discuss your character's thoughts and experiences.
