Benny the beaver woke up early one morning, feeling excited. Today was the day he was going to build his very first dam all by himself! He stretched his small, shiny body and hopped out of his cozy lodge. The sun was just starting to rise, casting golden light across the calm river. Benny gathered sticks and mud, working tirelessly until lunchtime. As he sat by the water, munching on some delicious aquatic plants, he heard a splash. He turned to see his best friend, Sammy the squirrel, swimming toward him. "Benny, what are you doing?" Sammy asked, shaking the water from his fur. "I’m building a dam!" Benny replied proudly. "It’s going to be the strongest dam ever!" Sammy was impressed and offered to help. Together, they worked until the sun began to set. When they finished, Benny looked at their incredible dam. Water had already started to pool behind it. Benny and Sammy celebrated by playing a game of hide-and-seek in the new pond they had created. Benny couldn’t stop laughing as Sammy jumped out from behind a tree. "That was the best day ever!" Benny shouted, his tail wagging happily.Now, answer the following questions about the story: 1.
