Science
Read the following passage about tidal effects and answer the questions.
Tidal effects are the changes in the shape of an object caused by the gravitational pull of a larger object, such as a moon or a planet. These effects are most noticeable in the oceans of Earth, where the Moon's gravity creates high and low tides. The closer a celestial body is to the object it is orbiting, the stronger the tidal forces will be. This can lead to extreme tidal heating and even volcanic activity on moons like Jupiter's Io.
1. What is the main cause of tidal effects?2. True or False: The Moon's gravity is the primary cause of Earth's ocean tides. Write "True" or "False" and explain why.
3. If a moon is very close to its planet, what might happen as a result of strong tidal forces? Be specific.
