Instructions
Welcome to the Phonics Car Race! Say the letter sounds to race to the finish line.
You will need:- One die
- A game piece for each player (a small toy car or a button works great!)
- Place your game piece on the "START" square.
- Roll the die and move your piece that many squares along the road.
- When you land on a square with a letter, say the sound that letter makes out loud. (For example, for 't', say the "tuh" sound).
- If you land on a special square, follow the directions on it.
- The first player to land on the FINISH square wins the race!

Answer Key
This key shows the most common sound for each letter. Help your child say the sound if they get stuck.
- s - says "sss" as in snake
- a - says "ah" as in apple
- t - says "tuh" as in top
- p - says "puh" as in pig
- i - says "ih" as in igloo
- n - says "nnn" as in net
- c - says "kuh" as in cat
- k - says "kuh" as in kite
- m - says "mmm" as in map
- d - says "duh" as in dog
- g - says "guh" as in goat
- o - says "ah" as in octopus
- r - says "rrr" as in run
- h - says "huh" as in hat
- b - says "buh" as in ball
- f - says "fff" as in fish
