Let's review pronouns! A pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun (a person, place, or thing). This helps us avoid repeating the same nouns over and over.

There are two main types we will look at today:

  • Subject Pronouns: These are the "doers" of the action in a sentence. They tell you who or what is doing something.
    Example: She kicked the ball. ("She" is the one doing the kicking.)

  • Object Pronouns: These "receive" the action in a sentence. The action is happening to them.
    Example: The ball hit him. ("Him" is the one receiving the action of being hit.)
