Let's learn about counting things and using the words many, few, and all! Read each section carefully and complete the fun activities.

Part 1: Can You Count It?

Some things we can count easily. These are called countable nouns. For example, you can count three chairs or five pencils.

Other things are hard to count by themselves, like liquids or tiny grains. These are called uncountable nouns. You can't say "one water" or "two sands." Instead, you count their containers, like "a bottle of water."

Activity: Is the noun countable or uncountable? Circle 'C' for Countable or 'U' for Uncountable.

We use special words to talk about the number of countable things without using an exact number.

  • Many: Use this for a large number of things. (Imagine a sky full of stars!)
  • Few: Use this for a small number of things. (Imagine only two cookies left on a plate.)
  • All: Use this when you mean every single one. (Imagine a pizza with 8 slices, and you eat every slice. You ate all the slices!)

Activity: Read the sentence and fill in the blank with many, few, or all.
