Instructions

Welcome to your first English worksheet! This activity is designed to be completed in about 30 minutes. An adult can help by reading the story and instructions aloud to you. Let's get started!

Part 1: Listen and Understand

For the Parent/Educator: Please read the short story below aloud to the student one or two times. Encourage the student to listen carefully for the characters, setting, and main events.

The Story

Leo walked home from the park. The wind whistled through the tall trees. He zipped his jacket a little higher. Suddenly, he stopped. A small, blue feather rested on the sidewalk. It shimmered with hints of green when the sun hit it. Leo picked it up carefully. The feather felt soft and delicate in his hand. He raced the rest of the way home. He wanted to put his special treasure in his collection box.
