Let's learn all about the amazing colors in a flame and how to stay safe around fire! Follow the instructions for each activity below.
1. The Colors of a Candle Flame
A candle flame has different parts with different temperatures. Follow the coloring guide for the flame zones described below!
- Zone 1 (The very bottom): This is the hottest part! It's clean and has lots of oxygen. Color this part BLUE.
- Zone 2 (The big middle part): This part is bright yellow because it's full of tiny, glowing bits of soot. Color this part YELLOW.
- Zone 3 (The outer edge): This is the coolest part of the visible flame. Color this part ORANGE and RED.
