Hello, young botanist! Let's explore the amazing world of plants. First, read the recap section carefully to refresh your memory. Then, use what you've learned to answer all the questions that follow. Good luck!

Let's Recap: Plant Power!

Plants come in all shapes and sizes! Let's remember the main types:

  • Trees: These are very big and strong plants. They have a single, thick, woody stem called a trunk. (Example: Mango Tree, Oak Tree)
  • Shrubs: These are smaller than trees. Instead of one trunk, they have many thin, woody stems starting from the ground. (Example: Rose Bush, Hibiscus)
  • Climbers: These plants have weak stems. They need support from a wall, a stick, or another plant to "climb" upwards towards the sunlight. (Example: Money Plant, Grapevine)
  • Creepers: These plants also have weak stems, but instead of climbing up, they "creep" and spread out along the ground. (Example: Pumpkin, Watermelon)
  • Thorny Plants: These plants have sharp points called thorns. Thorns help protect the plant from being eaten by animals. (Example: Cactus, Rose Bush)

Garden Plants vs. Houseplants

What's the difference? It's all about where they live!

  • Garden Plants grow outside in the soil. They usually need lots of space, sunlight, and rain to thrive. (Example: A large Sunflower or an Apple Tree)
  • Houseplants are grown inside our homes in pots. They are smaller and don't need as much direct sunlight as garden plants. (Example: A Spider Plant or an indoor Fern)
