Instructions

After your Five Senses Walk, talk with your child about what you remember. In the first activity, help them draw a line to connect something you might have found on your walk to the sense you used to explore it. In the second activity, encourage them to draw a picture of their favorite thing they noticed with their senses on the walk.

Activity 1: Match the Senses

Draw a line from the word on the left to the sense on the right.

DAISY ✋ TOUCH
PINE CONE 👁️ SEE
MAPLE LEAF 👃 SMELL

Activity 2: My Nature Drawing

Let's draw what we saw, heard, smelled, or felt on our walk!

Answer Key

Activity 1: Match the Senses

  • DAISY should be connected to 👃 SMELL. (Note: Connecting to SEE is also acceptable, as a flower is very visual!)
  • PINE CONE should be connected to ✋ TOUCH.
  • MAPLE LEAF should be connected to 👁️ SEE. (Note: Connecting to TOUCH is also a great answer, as leaves have a distinct texture!)

Activity 2: My Nature Drawing

  • The child's drawing is unique and correct. It is a wonderful representation of their sensory experience!
