The Present Perfect tense is used to talk about actions that happened at an unspecific time in the past or actions that started in the past and are still true now. It's like a sports commentator telling you about something that just happened which affects the game right now!

We form it using has / have + the past participle of a verb (e.g., scored, won, seen).

  • Use has with he, she, it (The player has scored a goal!)
  • Use have with I, you, we, they (The fans have gone wild!)

Part 1: Kick-Off Practice

Complete the sentences below by putting the verb in brackets into the present perfect tense. Use has or have.

  1. The star striker _______________ (score) two goals already!

  3. My favorite team _______________ (win) the championship.
  4. We _______________ (see) some incredible skill today.
  5. The goalkeeper _______________ (make) an amazing save.
  6. The players _______________ (train) hard all week for this match.

Part 2: Half-Time Team Talk
