Read the information below and complete the activities to learn all about a fascinating group of animals called ungulates!
What is an Ungulate?
Have you ever seen a horse, a deer, or a goat? If so, you've seen an ungulate! Ungulates are a group of mammals that have one special thing in common: they walk on the tips of their toes, which are covered by thick, hard nails called hooves. Most ungulates are herbivores, which means they only eat plants. They come in all shapes and sizes, from the tall giraffe to the sturdy pig!
