Meet the Groups!
Artiodactyls (Ar-tee-oh-dack-tills): This is a big group of mammals that have an even number of toes on each foot (usually two or four). Their hooves look like they are split down the middle. Giraffes, pigs, and deer are all artiodactyls!
Bovids (Bo-vids): This is a special family within the Artiodactyl group. They are artiodactyls known for having unbranched horns that they keep for their whole lives. Cows, sheep, and goats are all bovids!
Equids (Ee-kwids): This is the horse family! It includes horses, donkeys, and zebras. Unlike Artiodactyls, they have an odd number of toes on each foot (just one big toe that forms their hoof).
