Despite this lonely start, he never lost his cheerful and determined personality. His personal ninja way, or "nindo," is to never give up and to always keep his promises. Through his unwavering determination and his ability to form strong bonds with his friends and teachers, Naruto proves that a person's past does not have to define their future.
