The Earth's crust is broken into large pieces called tectonic plates. These plates are constantly moving, and their edges, called boundaries, are where most of the planet's geological action happens! Your task is to sort the famous geological features from the Word Bank into the correct category of plate boundary that formed them.

Understanding the Boundaries

Convergent Boundary (Collision Zone): Two plates push towards each other. This can create massive mountain ranges (if two continents collide) or deep ocean trenches and volcanic islands (if an ocean plate and a continent plate collide).

Divergent Boundary (Spreading Zone): Two plates pull apart from each other. Magma from below rises up to fill the gap, creating new crust. This forms mid-ocean ridges and rift valleys.

Transform Boundary (Sliding Zone): Two plates slide horizontally past one another. The immense friction can cause the plates to get stuck, building up pressure that is eventually released as an earthquake.
