Complete the three activities below. Read each section carefully and use your creativity and knowledge of great writing to answer the questions.
Part 1: Character Deep Dive
Choose one character from a book you are reading or a movie you have seen. Think about a key scene they are in. In the space below, write a paragraph explaining how they feel during that scene. Make sure to use at least three strong emotion words (e.g., ecstatic, terrified, bewildered).
Part 2: Dialogue Practice
Imagine two characters having a conversation. They can be from a story you know or characters you make up right now. Write between 6 and 8 lines of dialogue. Remember to use correct punctuation for speech, including quotation marks (“ ”), commas, and starting a new line for each new speaker.
Part 3: Sentence Supercharge
The sentence below is a bit boring. Your mission is to rewrite it to make it more powerful and descriptive. Your new sentence must include at least three adjectives and one simile (a comparison using 'like' or 'as').
“The house was big and scary.”
