Read each section carefully and complete the fun activities to become a Sentence Superstar! Remember to use your best handwriting.

Part 1: What is a Sentence?

A sentence is a complete thought! To be complete, every sentence needs two important parts:

  • A Subject: This tells us WHO or WHAT the sentence is about.
  • A Predicate: This tells us what the subject IS or DOES.

Example: The happy dog wagged its tail.
(Subject)            (Predicate)

Sentences also need to start with a capital letter and end with a punctuation mark, like a period (.), a question mark (?), or an exclamation point (!).
