We use the Present Continuous tense to talk about actions that are happening right now. To make this tense, we use a helping verb (am, is, or are) and add -ing to the main verb.

  • Use am with 'I' → I am reading.
  • Use is with 'he', 'she', 'it', or a single noun → She is dancing. The cat is sleeping.
  • Use are with 'you', 'we', 'they', or plural nouns → They are playing. The dogs are running.
