To do this, you will multiply the map measurement (in cm) by 10. This will give you the real-world distance in kilometers (km).
Using a Calculator:
- Enter the "Measurement on Map (cm)" number into your calculator.
- Press the multiplication button (×).
- Enter the number 10.
- Press the equals button (=).
- Write the result in the "Real-World Distance (km)" column.
Example: If the distance to a hidden cave is 3.5 cm on your map, the calculation would be: 3.5 × 10 = 35. The real-world distance is 35 km.
