Welcome, Robloxian! Use your maths skills to solve these challenges from the world of Roblox. Read each question carefully and show your working out in the space provided.

Section 1: Robux & The Avatar Shop

You have been saving up your Robux! Use your knowledge of percentages and multi-step problems to figure out these avatar shop dilemmas.

  1. You have 2,500 Robux in your account. You want to buy the 'Korblox Deathwalker' leg which costs 1,700 Robux and a 'Domino Crown' which costs 625 Robux. How much Robux will you have left?

  2. The 'Super Super Happy Face', which normally costs 4,000 Robux, is on sale with a 20% discount.
    a) How much is the discount in Robux?
    b) What is the new sale price of the face?

  3. You want to buy three limited items. Their prices are 180 Robux, 355 Robux, and 215 Robux. You get a daily login bonus of 25 Robux. If you currently have 500 Robux, how many days will you need to log in to afford all three items?

Section 2: Game Time Problems

Let's jump into some games and see how maths can help you!

  1. In a 'Tower of Hell' server, there are 24 players. (one-third) of the players are using a speed coil. ¼ (one-quarter) of the players are using a gravity coil. The rest are using no power-ups. How many players are using no power-ups?

  2. You are playing 'Adopt Me!' and trying to hatch pets. The ratio of common pets to legendary pets you have hatched is 9:2. If you have hatched 18 common pets, how many legendary pets have you hatched?

  3. In 'Blox Fruits', you need to deal 50,000 damage to defeat a boss. Your 'Flash Step' ability does 1,250 damage each time you use it. How many times must you use the 'Flash Step' ability to defeat the boss?

Section 3: Building in Brookhaven

You're designing a new house in 'Brookhaven'. Your garden is a perfect rectangle.

  1. Your new rectangular swimming pool is 12 metres long and 7 metres wide.
    a) What is the perimeter of the pool?
    b) What is the area of the pool?

Section 4: Server Statistics

You are checking the player count on your favourite game throughout the week.

  1. The number of players in the server at 5 pm each day was:
    Monday: 35
    Tuesday: 42
    Wednesday: 38
    Thursday: 50
    Friday: 65
What was the mean (average) number of players in the server at 5 pm that week? (Round to the nearest whole number if needed).

Answer Key

Section 1: Robux & The Avatar Shop

  1. 1,700 + 625 = 2,325 Robux.
    2,500 - 2,325 = 175 Robux left.
  2. a) 20% of 4,000 is (4,000 / 100) * 20 = 800. The discount is 800 Robux.
    b) 4,000 - 800 = 3,200 Robux.
  3. 180 + 355 + 215 = 750 Robux (total cost).
    750 - 500 = 250 Robux (needed).
    250 / 25 = 10. You will need to log in for 10 days.

Section 2: Game Time Problems

  1. ⅝ of 24 = 8 players (speed coil).
    ¼ of 24 = 6 players (gravity coil).
    8 + 6 = 14 players with power-ups.
    24 - 14 = 10 players with no power-ups.
  2. The ratio is 9:2. To get from 9 to 18, you multiply by 2.
So, you must also multiply the other side by 2.
    2 * 2 = 4 legendary pets.
  3. 50,000 / 1,250 = 40 times.

Section 3: Building in Brookhaven

  1. a) Perimeter = (12m + 7m) * 2 = 19 * 2 = 38 metres.
    b) Area = 12m * 7m = 84 square metres (or 84m²).

Section 4: Server Statistics

  1. 35 + 42 + 38 + 50 + 65 = 230 (total players).
    230 / 5 (days) = 46 players.
