Part 1: Pumpkin Patch Conversions
- 4 feet = 48 inches (4 x 12)
- 3 pounds = 48 ounces (3 x 16)
- 2 gallons = 8 quarts (2 x 4)
- 6 yards = 18 feet (6 x 3)

- 5 quarts = 10 pints (5 x 2)
Part 2: Autumn Word Problems
-
Answer: 60 inches
(Work: 5 feet x 12 inches/foot = 60 inches) -
Answer: 34 ounces
(Work: 4 pounds x 16 ounces/pound = 64 ounces needed. 64 ounces - 30 ounces = 34 ounces.) -
Answer: 16 cups
(Work: 1 gallon = 4 quarts. 1 quart = 2 pints, so 4 quarts = 8 pints. 1 pint = 2 cups, so 8 pints = 16 cups.) -
Answer: Maya's pile is wider by 1 foot.
(Work: Leo's pile = 2 yards x 3 feet/yard = 6 feet. Maya's pile is 7 feet. 7 feet - 6 feet = 1 foot.)
Part 3: Corn Maze Challenge
Answer: 3 feet
(Work:
1. Convert everything to feet. Path length = 2 yards = 6 feet. You walked back 12 inches = 1 foot.
2. Calculate your current position. You walked forward 4 feet, then back 1 foot. (4 - 1 = 3 feet from the start).
3. Find the remaining distance. The path is 6 feet long and you are at the 3-foot mark. (6 - 3 = 3 feet left).
