A verb is an action word! It tells what someone or something does. Read the instructions for each leafy activity below and show what you know about verbs!


Part 1: Find the Action!

Read each sentence below. Find the verb (the action word) and circle it.

  1. The brown leaf falls slowly from the branch.
  2. We rake the leaves into a huge pile.
  3. A cool wind blows through the tall trees.
  4. My dog jumps into the crunchy leaf pile.
  5. Squirrels gather nuts under the oak tree.
