Read the Story

Leo the lion was not like the other lions. While they loved to roar loudly and chase gazelles, Leo loved to look at the stars. Every night, when the moon was bright, he would sneak away to the highest rock on the savanna. He would lie on his back, his big paws crossed, and gaze at the twinkling lights in the dark sky.

He knew all the star patterns. There was the Great Giraffe, the Dancing Monkey, and his favorite, the Sparkling Fish. The other lions thought he was peculiar. "Why do you waste time staring at dots, Leo?" grumbled an old lion named Gus. "You should be practicing your roar!"

One night, a lost little elephant calf stumbled into the lion's territory, crying for its mother. It was scared and alone. The other lions just watched, not knowing what to do. But Leo remembered his star maps. He looked up and saw the Sparkling Fish. "I know that star!" he said. "It always shines above the big watering hole. Your mother will be there!" Leo guided the little elephant safely through the dark, using the stars as his map. He wasn't just a stargazer; he was a hero.
