All About Ancient Egypt
A long, long time ago, there was a special land called Ancient Egypt. A very long river, called the Nile River, ran through it. The river was very important because it gave them water and helped them grow lots of yummy food.
The rulers of Ancient Egypt were called pharaohs. They were like kings and queens. When a pharaoh died, they were often buried in giant, triangle-shaped buildings called pyramids. The pyramids were built as special tombs to keep them safe.
The Egyptians also learned how to preserve bodies, turning them into mummies. For writing, they didn't use letters like we do. They used cool picture writing called hieroglyphics! Each picture stood for a sound or a word.
