Our identity is like a puzzle made of many pieces. Two of the most important pieces are our values and beliefs.

  • Values: Things that are important to you, guiding your decisions. (e.g., honesty, teamwork, kindness)
  • Beliefs: Ideas you hold to be true about the world and how it works. (e.g., "I believe practice is the key to getting better.")

Sam’s core value is creativity. He believes that rules limit self-expression. His identity is that of an artist. He doesn't like traditional sports, finding them too rigid. Instead, he loves skateboarding and parkour, where he can invent his own tricks and movements. He spends his time at the skatepark with others who share his passion for individual style.
