Now it's time to write a persuasive announcement to get everyone excited to come to your festival! Your announcement should be one paragraph (4-5 sentences).

Instructions:

  • State the festival name, theme, and date.
  • Use at least two vivid adjectives (e.g., "amazing," "thrilling," "delicious").
  • Check your work for correct spelling, capitalization, and punctuation.
  • Make sure your pronouns (it, they, their, you, your) are used correctly.

Challenge Question (All Subjects)

Problem: On the day of the festival, there is a sudden rain shower! Your outdoor festival needs a backup plan. In the space below, propose a solution that considers the following:

  • Space (Social Studies): Where could you move the festival (e.g., the gym)? How would you adjust your map?

Part 3: The Vibe (History, Music & Art)

A. Historical Theme: Answers will vary. The explanation should logically connect the theme to a festival idea (e.g., "We chose Ancient Egypt because we can have a 'find the pharaoh's treasure' scavenger hunt.").

B. Festival Playlist: Answers will vary. The student should list two real songs/artists and correctly identify their tempo and a logical mood.

Part 4: Spreading the Word (English)

Answers will vary. A strong answer will be a full paragraph that meets all instructions. Example: "Get ready for the most amazing event of the year! The 6th Grade is proud to present our 'Greek Mythology Mayhem' festival this Friday. You won't want to miss our thrilling games and creative activities. Your friends will be there for all the fun, so make sure you bring your heroic spirit. It's going to be a legendary day!"

Challenge Question

Answers will vary. A strong answer will address all three points logically. Example:
"Space: We would move the festival into the gym. I would redraw the map to fit, putting booths along the walls and games in the center. Activities: Instead of launching rockets, the science booth could be about building them and explaining the physics on a whiteboard. The PE game could be adapted by using softer balls and marking smaller boundaries with tape on the gym floor. Budget: Moving indoors might not cost extra money.
