Instructions
This worksheet focuses on Closed Compound Words. These are two small words joined together to make one new word (like sun + flower = sunflower).
- Complete Section 1 by breaking the compound words into their two smaller words.
- In Section 2, combine words from the two columns to form new compound words.
- In Section 3, choose the correct compound word to complete the sentence.
- Complete the Challenge section if you want an extra brain workout!
Section 1: Breaking Apart Compound Words
Read the compound word below. Write the two smaller words that make up the compound word in the spaces provided. We call these the 'base words'.
