Welcome to the Compound Word Factory! A Closed Compound Word is made when you take two smaller words and join them together to make one brand new word, with no space in between.

Example: SUN + FLOWER = SUNFLOWER

  1. Complete all sections of the worksheet in order.
  2. Read all directions carefully before starting each activity.
  3. Use your best handwriting when filling in sentences and tables.

Section 1: Break It Down

Look at the closed compound word. Separate it into the two smaller words that make it up. The first row is done for you.
