What is Faith?
Faith is a strong belief or trust in someone or something. Having faith in Jesus Christ means trusting Him completely, even though we cannot see Him right now. It is like knowing the wind is there because you feel it, even if you can't see it!
Activity 1: Faith or Sight?
Faith is about things we believe but cannot see. Circle the things in the list below that require Faith.
- The chair you are sitting on
- Jesus loves you
- The color of your shirt
- Heavenly Father hears your prayers
- Your pet dog or cat
- Following Jesus will make you happy
- The words in this book
Activity 2: Trusting Jesus
When we have faith, we act because we trust Jesus. Look at the example below and then think of four more ways you can show you trust Him.
| When I feel... | I can show faith by... |
|---|---|
| Example: Scared of the dark | Saying a prayer and remembering Jesus is with me. |
| 1. | |
| 2. | |
| 3. | |
| 4. | |
| 5. |
Activity 3: Hero Match
Draw a line from the person in the Bible to the way they showed faith in Jesus (or God).
| The Person | The Act of Faith |
|---|---|
| Noah | Followed a star to find Baby Jesus |
| Peter | Built a giant boat when there was no rain |
| The Wise Men | Stepped out of a boat to walk on water |
| Mary | Trusted God when an Angel told her she would be Jesus' mother |
Activity 4: My Faith Story
In the space below, draw a picture of yourself doing something that shows you have faith in Jesus (like being kind, praying, or helping a friend).
(Leave space here for drawing)
