The Story of Elijah and the Widow
There was no rain in the land, and everyone was very hungry. God told the prophet Elijah to go to a town called Zarephath. There, he met a widow gathering sticks. Elijah asked her for a drink of water and a small piece of bread.
The widow was sad. She said, "I only have a tiny bit of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug. I was going to make one last meal for my son and me, and then we would have nothing left."
Elijah told her, "Don't be afraid! Make a small loaf for me first. God promises that your jar of flour will not be empty and your jug of oil will not run dry until the rain comes back."
The widow trusted God and shared her food. Just like Elijah said, the flour and oil never ran out! God took care of them every single day.
