Instructions
Building on your training at Green Dolphin Street Prison, your Stand abilities are evolving. Last time, we explored how Jolyne’s strings create curves and how Hermes’ stickers quadruple the area of objects. Now, we must face the gravity of Father Pucci’s final plan. We will move from flat shapes into 3D volumes, explore rotational symmetry, and use one-point perspective to visualize the acceleration of time.
- Use a sharp pencil and a straight edge (ruler) for all drawings.
- Remember the "Sticker Rule" from the last worksheet: Doubling dimensions changes measurements exponentially!
- Show your calculations clearly in the workspace provided.
Section 1: Review - The Sticker Expansion
Before we move to 3D, let's ensure you remember the power of Hermes Costello’s Stand, Kiss.
-
If a rectangular prison cell has an area of 50 sq ft and Hermes doubles both the length and the width with her stickers, what is the new area? Answer: __
-
Last time, Jolyne moved on a coordinate plane. If she is at (5, -2) and is reflected over the Y-axis, what are her new coordinates? Answer: __
Section 2: Weather Report’s Atmospheric Volume
The Stand Weather Report can manipulate the atmosphere to create clouds. Clouds aren't just flat shapes; they have Volume (V = Length × Width × Height).
The Discovery: If doubling the dimensions of a 2D shape quadruples the area (2²), then doubling the dimensions of a 3D shape multiplies the volume by eight (2³)!
Complete the table below to calculate the volume of Weather Report's localized clouds.
| Cloud Type | Length | Width | Height | Volume (L×W×H) | Doubled Volume (2L × 2W × 2H) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cumulus (Example) | 2 m | 3 m | 4 m | 24 m³ | 192 m³ |
| Fog Wall | 5 m | 10 m | 2 m | ||
| Storm Cell | 4 m | 4 m | 4 m | ||
| Vapor Barrier | 1.5 m | 2 m | 10 m | ||
| Heavy Weather | 3 m | 6 m | 5 m | ||
| Micro-burst | 0.5 m | 4 m | 8 m |
Section 3: Made in Heaven - Rotational Symmetry
Father Pucci’s Stand, Made in Heaven, accelerates time, causing the sun and moon to rotate around the Earth at incredible speeds.
Task: Below is a clock face representing the acceleration of time.
- Draw the minute hand pointing at the 3 (representing 90 degrees from the top).
- Rotate that hand 90° clockwise. Where does it point now? __
- Rotate the hand 180° from its starting position (the 3). Where does it point now? __
- Create a Radial Design in the circle below by drawing a line from the center to every hour marker (1 through 12). This represents the "Singularity Point."
(Space for Clock Drawing: A large circle with a center point marked)
Section 4: Visual Arts - One-Point Perspective
Jolyne’s string can define the edges of 3D space. To show the infinite hallway of the prison, we use One-Point Perspective. All parallel lines must meet at a single Vanishing Point (VP) on the horizon.
Instructions:
- Draw a horizontal line across the middle of the box (the Horizon Line).
- Place a small dot in the exact center (the Vanishing Point).
- Draw two squares: one above the horizon line and one below.
- Connect the corners of those squares to the Vanishing Point using light "string" lines.
- Shade the sides of the resulting 3D boxes to make them look solid.
(Space for Drawing: A large rectangular frame for your perspective art)
Section 5: The Singularity Challenge
As time accelerates, the ratio of "Time Passed" to "Actual Time" changes.
If Made in Heaven is active and time is moving at a ratio of 1:60 (1 minute feels like 1 hour), calculate the following:
-
How many "perceived" minutes pass in 5 real-time seconds? Hint: 1 real second = 1 perceived minute. Answer: __
-
The Ultimate Gravity Question: If Jolyne throws a baseball at 10 meters per second, but time accelerates by 10x, how fast does the ball appear to move to a normal person? Answer: __
