Activities
- Create a Doctor's Office Drawing: Encourage the student to draw a picture of a doctor's office using colored pencils or crayons. Discuss the different elements they include, such as a doctor, patients, medical equipment, and a waiting area.
- Pretend Play as a Doctor: Provide the student with a toy stethoscope or pretend doctor kit. Encourage them to play the role of a doctor and examine their stuffed animals or family members. Help them use basic medical terms like "listen to the heartbeat" or "check the temperature."
- Read a Doctor-themed Storybook: Choose a storybook about doctors and read it aloud to the student. Pause occasionally to ask questions about the story, characters, or medical procedures mentioned.
- Listen and Move to Doctor-themed Music: Play some cheerful music related to doctors or hospitals. Encourage the student to listen and move their body in response to the rhythm. Use simple movements like clapping, marching, or spinning.
- Counting and Sorting Objects: Provide the student with a set of safe objects (e.g., blocks, toy cars) and guide them to count and sort the objects based on different attributes (e.g., color, size). Introduce basic math concepts like counting, grouping, and comparing.
