3. Vowel Pair Bingo: Create bingo cards with different vowel pairs. Call out words with vowel pairs and have the student mark the corresponding vowel pair on their bingo card.
Talking Points
- "Today we are going to learn about vowel pairs. Vowel pairs are two vowels that appear together in a word."
- "Vowel pairs can make different sounds. For example, in the word 'boat', the vowel pair 'oa' makes the long 'o' sound like in 'go'."
- "Let's go on a vowel pair hunt! I will give you some words, and I want you to find and circle the vowel pairs in each word."
- "Now, let's try sorting some word cards. I will give you different words, and I want you to group them based on the vowel pairs they have."
- "Time for some vowel pair bingo! I will call out words, and you need to mark the corresponding vowel pair on your bingo card. Remember to shout 'bingo' when you get a row or column of marked vowel pairs!"
- "Great job today! You are becoming a vowel pair expert. Keep practicing and soon you will be able to read and spell words with vowel pairs easily."
