Materials and Prep

Before the lesson, familiarize yourself with Roman New Year traditions to better guide the student.
Activities
- Create New Year's Fireworks: Help the student draw colorful fireworks on a piece of paper using crayons or markers.
- Sing a New Year's Song: Teach the student a simple New Year's song, such as "Happy New Year" or "Auld Lang Syne." Sing it together and encourage the student to clap along.
- Countdown to New Year: Use a countdown from 10 to 1, and celebrate "New Year" by clapping, cheering, or blowing party horns.
- Make Noise Makers: Help the student decorate empty toilet paper rolls with stickers or drawings. Show them how to shake the noise maker to create celebratory sounds.
